About Christina Edwards

Christina Edwards is a passionate School Administrator and Piano Teacher at Blackboard Sound in Port Elgin. She holds a PATM in Piano Performance from Cambrian College (Sudbury) and a BMus in Collaborative Piano Performance from Brandon University.

Christina is the pianist for the Chantry Singers and a co-founder of both the classical music trio Aria21 and the Hammers & Strings Piano Duo.  She also serves on the faculty of Summer Music Camp (Art & Music Exploration), where she lives her dream, balancing performance opportunities with teaching in beautiful Saugeen Shores and surrounding areas.

Her teaching is student-centric, moving at each student’s pace and tailored to their wishes, whether classical, chording, pop, or other styles. Lessons focus on relaxed playing and addressing physical obstacles, such as tension, that can hold students back from playing as they would like. She enjoys working with students of all ages, from keen 4-year-olds up to 105 years old!

Christina encourages ensemble work, “play-in” classes, and optional recitals, giving students performance experience and building confidence in a supportive, fun environment.

Outside of music, Christina is dedicated to local animal shelters and farm sanctuaries such as Love of Brian Farm Sanctuary, supporting the care and well-being of animals in her community.

At home, she shares her life with her partner Steve and her beautiful and playful Blue Heeler rescue, Jan, making sure that even off the piano bench, life is full of music, love, and laughter.
